چکیده

Rabbits have played an important role in ophthalmological research processes, however the environment there has been a deficiency of sensitive equipment measurement intraocular pressure for this species. To compare (IOP) measured with rebound (TONOVET Plus®) and applanation (TONO-PEN VET®) tonometry healthy New Zealand rabbits treated Amlodipine. Twelve male white rabbits, 5 months old; two groups 6 individuals were used study. The experimental group was given Amlodipine® at dose mg/kg, once day month. Blood before treatment h after period one A trend is noted where animals amlodipine® presents lower values than control group, both systolic diastolic pressure. showed average 116.5 ± 7.9 mmHg 117.4 8.9 113.6 111.8 10.0 (pretreatment posttreatment respectively). Tonometry: obtained using TONOVET Plus® (19 3 mmHg) are on higher TONO-PEN VET® (17 mmHg). It possible to demonstrate relationship between systemic blood rabbits. Rebound less variability results tonometry. This study confirmed that tonometers reliable measuring IOP

Repeatability, reproducibility and agreement of intraocular pressure measurement in rabbits by the TonoVet and Tono-Pen

Tono-Pen and TonoVet have been used in rabbits to measure intraocular pressure (IOP) and investigate the effect of IOP lowering therapies. Therefore, their reliability and accuracy are very important and deserve careful evaluation. Our results showed that the with-subject deviation (Sw) and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of the TonoVet and Tono-Pen were 0.61 mmHg/0.83 mmHg and 0.97/0....

Measurements of Intraocular Pressure with Tono-Pen and Goldmann Applanation Tonometers in Subjects with Systemic Illness

Objective: The purpose of this preliminary study was to compare differences in the measurement of intraocular pressure (IOP) between TonoPen tonometry and Goldmann applanation tonometry (GAT) in healthy individuals and those with coexisting illnesses. Patients and Methods: This prospective study included 42 individuals who were further categorized into two groups. Group 1 consisted of 20 health...

The influence of central corneal thickness and age on intraocular pressure measured by pneumotonometry, non-contact tonometry, the Tono-Pen XL, and Goldmann applanation tonometry.

AIMS To evaluate the influence of central corneal thickness (CCT) on intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements made with the Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT), Tono-Pen XL, ocular blood flow tonograph (OBF), and Canon TX-10 non-contact tonometer (NCT). METHODS CCT was recorded for either eye (randomly selected) of each of 105 untreated patients with ocular hypertension and glaucoma attending...

Applanation resonance tonometry for intraocular pressure measurement

3 Doubt is the beginning of wisdom. (René Descartes) 4 5 1 Abstract Elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) is one of the major risk factors for glaucoma. Since glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness, reliable methods for measuring the IOP are important. This doctoral dissertation presents a new method, applanation resonance tonometry (ART), for measurement of IOP. The method is based on resonanc...
